Contracted Turmeric Farms
Curcumin excellence begins in the field. We maintain long-term contracts with certified organic Curcuma longa growers across Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala—regions with ideal soil chemistry and climate for curcuminoid accumulation. Our agronomy team provides elite seed stock targeted at ≥5% total curcuminoids, develops customized soil nutrition plans (organic amendments, mycorrhizal inoculants, boron, zinc), and maintains strict pesticide-free protocols combined with annual soil testing for heavy metals and contaminants. This partnership approach ensures every harvest is planned, monitored, and delivered with the same quality standards we demand for finished extract. The result is rhizome biomass with consistently elevated curcuminoid levels, enabling us to achieve ≥95% curcuminoids in final extract without excessive concentration cycles that degrade delicate polyphenol structures.
Strategic Harvest & Primary Processing
Harvest timing is critical. We work with agronomists to monitor rhizome maturity and schedule harvests during the post-monsoon window when rhizome starch reserves have converted to maximum curcuminoid concentration—typically October through December across our contracted farms.
- Freshly excavated rhizomes are immediately transported to our primary processing facility in temperature-controlled conditions to prevent oxidation and mould formation
- Multi-stage washing removes field soil while preserving the rhizome skin and nutrient-dense tissue
- Rhizomes are sliced into thin cross-sections and sun-dried on food-grade mats for 7–10 days until moisture content drops below 10%, achieving optimal preservation of curcuminoid structures
- Each lot is barcoded with unique tracking codes that follow the material through every extraction, concentration, and quality control stage—enabling complete traceability from field to finished product
Controlled Extraction & Concentration
Steam Sterilisation
Clean, dried rhizomes undergo steam treatment to lower microbial load before milling.
Hydro-Alcoholic Extraction
Food-grade ethanol extracts curcuminoids; counter-current systems maximise yield.
Solvent Recovery & Concentration
Falling film evaporators recover ethanol for reuse and concentrate the extract.
Crystallisation & Micronisation
Controlled crystallisation yields ≥95% curcuminoids which are then micronised for uniform particle size.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Every production batch undergoes a comprehensive 14-point analytical validation before release. Our QA laboratory uses HPLC to quantify the complete curcuminoid profile—measuring total curcuminoids (≥95%), individual components (curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, bisdemethoxycurcumin), and potency consistency. We conduct GC-MS analysis to verify residual solvents (ethanol) are completely removed, perform microbiological screening (Total Plate Count, Yeast & Moulds, E. coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus), and heavy metals analysis (Pb, As, Cd, Hg) to pharmaceutical safety standards. Accelerated stability testing simulates tropical heat (40°C/75% RH) and temperate storage (25°C/60% RH) to provide real-world shelf life data for customers. All testing follows USP, EP, and ISO protocols, resulting in comprehensive Certificates of Analysis that support regulatory submissions worldwide.
HDPE Drums, Sachets, or Capsule-Ready Granules
Curcumin extract stability depends critically on protection from light, heat, and moisture. Every production batch is sealed in heavy-duty HDPE drums lined with double LDPE bags that create a multi-barrier system protecting against oxygen infiltration and light exposure that can cause curcuminoid oxidation and color degradation. The HDPE exterior provides structural durability for international shipping and temperature-controlled handling. For smaller unit sizes, we offer nitrogen-flushed, heat-sealed sachets in 50g to 500g formats with opaque foil barriers suitable for B2B ingredient use and retail distribution. Stability testing under tropical (40°C/75% RH) and temperate (25°C/60% RH) conditions confirms potency maintenance through 36-month shelf life. Our packaging materials are certified food-grade and compliant with FDA and EU regulations for direct food contact applications.
